A Girl Is A Body Of Water

Hello, you’re welcome to everything Fabulous with Mo.

I'm bringing your fabulous greetings from my cave. How are you guys? How was your week? Mine was stressful, I fell sick in the middle but, I'm so much better. I missed you all

This week I'm going to be doing a book review because I don't have anything to say but I’m telling you about this wonderful book that I read and I'm excited about it.

I'm excited to be sharing this blog post with you because I just read my second book of the year and I loved it, so you guys can check it out. The title is A Girl Is A Body Of Water. I had so much fun reading this book, and it's one of the books I added to my reading collection for the year so I am really happy I was able to read it.

The book focuses on the life of Kirabo a young girl who has always looked for her mother she lives with her grandparents and extended family with a father who lives in the city. She is a rebellious tomboy, but I loved her character. At the beginning of the book, Kirabo thought she was a witch because she had a rebellious nature and she hated when she was told to not do something. For instance, she flashed the tree because her grandmother stopped her from climbing trees with boys. Searching for a way to get rid of the witchcraft, she visits Nsutta, the village witch who then tells her that she is not a witch but she has the original nature of women.

The book also shows a glimpse into the life of other women across generation, we see the life of Muka Miiro, Kirabo’s grandmother, Nsutta, her grandmother's friend-turned-foe turned friend again then there's aunt Abii aunt Ya, aunt Gayi, Nnambi her stepmother and Nnukka, her mother Gilbwa.

The book also shows the relationship between men and women. It highlights the love life of Kirabo and her childhood lover Sio, it shows us how innocent love can be. We also see the love between Kirabo’s grandmother, Nsutta and Miiro. Then there is the marriage life of Nnambi and her father Tom which is borderline toxic. There is Aunt Ya who is constantly shrinking herself so that her husband feels like a man. There is Gayi, who eloped with a man she loves and he loves her too.

A girl is a body of water shows us that women can take any form they desire. It is very obvious in the book across each generation as all the women have different characters but in the end, they are still women. We can see the clear difference between Aunt Ya and aunt Abi, even though they are biological sisters, their differences are still as clear as night and day.

What's more, the book reveals that with all the fights for women to be given equal rights with men, women are still not equal among women. It points out that there is a lot of work to be done.

In this world, you can't blame women for how they react. In Nsutta’s words, Women have been oppressed for so long that even when their oppressors wrong them they find it easier to bite themselves. That is why when a woman finds out that her husband is cheating, she goes out After the other woman, not her husband.

The book also points out that women are the best supporters of women because a lot of times, only women can understand how women feel.

The book points out the evils of war, patriarchy, and how women keep finding a way to support themselves in a society that is against them. It also shows us that there are men who would try to make things easier for women.

A girl is a body of water is a really beautiful work of art and I'm so glad I read it, if anybody that wants to, I recommend it, You will love it.

Thank you for reading this I'm taking time out I love you

Hmm this might be the most precisely culled book title I've ever heard cos thinking about it now, a woman is truly a body of water. While men tend to be more rigid and exhibit largely the same character and behavior, it truly is surprising how women can react or adapt to life's situations so differently. I think sometimes, society is afraid of this trait of variation in a woman, but she really doesn't mean harm. Girl just wants to survive and live her dream.
