How I Almost Died Dettying December

Hello people of Earth, I bring fabulous greetings from the Underworld.

Welcome to 'Everything Fabulous With Mo❤️'

I'm really excited about this post. BTW, happy new year! (Cheers to an exciting 2021🥂). One of the many reasons I am grateful for the new year is because *I almost lost my life in December. *

Yeah, this baby girl almost died😂

You know how December is like, yeah? Almost everyone is merry and wants to have fun.

To be honest, I'm not usually the kind of person to go wild with fun and chop life in December. Usually, I save all that energy for January. But, let's be real. 2020 was crazy as hell, and somehow, By pure grace, I managed to survive all that craziness. This alone was enough reason to plan a fun vacation and spend lots of my money on fancy meals and exotic spots.

So I packed up my bags and went to a beach house for the whole Christmas weekend. Omo, I felt like a celebrity. It was a beautiful beach house with a lovely view of the ocean.

My room was overpriced and the receptionist was unnecessarily rude, but it didn't matter, because I was here to have FUN!!

I'll skip to the day I almost died, no need to bore you with unnecessary details of my vacation.

It was the day after Christmas, call it 'Boxing day' if you wish. While people were unboxing Christmas gifts in their homes, I was getting dressed to go to the pool with my cousins and friends. The pool is a lovely space, and few people were lounging around the poolside. We were excited to get wet and show off our pretty swimsuits.

We were having mad fun, swimming and taking cute poolside pictures.

Pause. Confession time, I am not a great swimmer. So, knowing my very basic swimming skill, I stuck to the shallow end of the pool. Don't laugh at me, I just wanted to enjoy the water.

I didn't mind that I was basically chilling at the shallow end with random kids. But I kinda got bored after a while and made to swim to the other side of the pool (I couldn't stand hanging around too many children). Then one child decides to get extra crazy with the water and began splashing it at everyone around him. I was coming out of the water for air when a huge load of water hit me on my face. It was unexpected and I got disoriented. The next thing I knew, I had lost my balance and was flapping about helplessly tryna gain my balance so I could stand upright. (Insert a flapping gif)

That's how the water carried me oh, to a deeper part!😭 Adekunle Gold water carry me

The deep part of the pool was so deep that even if I stood (which I couldn't) I would still be underwater. That is how I knew I was drowning. I tried calling for help, but no one was listening. I began to panic and started waving my hand vigorously hoping someone would notice my frantic hand gestures. Nobody saw me. At that point, I was already swallowing lots of water. I was thinking " ah God, this is how I will die now."

I still kept hoping that someone would notice me drowning. I have read so many stories about People seeing a White light when they are about to die. I was seeing blue😭

My subconscious reminded me that Blue is my favourite colour, and "just maybe I was being eased into death

All that panic and frantic gestures began tiring me out. I had swallowed too much water. I was giving up on the thought of getting rescued, so I stopped struggling and swallowed more of the water.

Then all of a sudden, I heard "grab my hand" and I grabbed hard. I didn't hesitate. It was after I was firmly holding her grip that I spared a moment to think "God I hope this person can swim because if she can't swim, it will be bad."

Then I heard "grab the floater!". I blindly reached out for the floater and held on to it for dear life, after which people came around to pull us both out.

When we got out of the pool and were getting dry I found out that the person who saved me didn't know how to swim, but she saved me. Guys!!! She risked her life for me! So, a special shout out to her, her name is Oyinkansola.

Well, this is the end of my story. It felt relieving writing about such a crazy experience. I don't think I'm ready to enter another pool any time soon though, but who knows?

Have you ever had a near-death experience? Were you scared? How did you get saved? Please share with me in the comment section. Also, what type of posts would you like to see? Please let me know.

It's been so long since I posted here don't even know where to begin. I mentioned on Twitter that I would write heartbreak content...

Hi Mo, I also had the same death experience as you did but I was lucky because I sank in the pool for about a minute without anyone noticing me but while inside the water, I said to myself, is this how I’m going to die ? Then I remembered that the water is gentle so I freed my body and the water pushed me up, lucky for me I was beside the edge of the pool, so I pushed myself out of the water and I sat down on a bench close to the pool, ever since then I told myself that I was going to learn how to swim and I got myself a trainer and I did…

Wow...that must have been terrifying! I can barely remember any near death experience i had but if i were to talk about one, it would be the time i poured hot water all over my body as a kid. All i have is the scars but no memory of it.
